For the seventh consecutive year - VITOSHA GREEN LINE

Sofia is one of the few European capitals that has mountains on its territory and each year from July 1 to September 24 offers free bus rides to Vitosha for pedestrians and cyclists. Every weekend and on public holidays a bus awaits the residents and guests of the city at 8 am and 9 am at Vasil Levski Stadium and at 5 pm and 6 pm at Zlatnite Mostove (Golden Bridges) in Vitosha to take them back to the capital. There are two routes for cyclists –from Zoopark Bus stop at 8:20 am and 10:30 am up to Aleko Hut and from National Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment to the village of Zheleznitsa. The bus rides for cyclists are one way only and are only for people with bicycles. They can accommodate 26 bikes. The aim of Vitosha Green Line is to reduce emissions from the use of private cars, facilitate citizens and encourage them to spend more time in the mountains.
