Description

Not a great distance away from Sofia university, located on Vasil Levski Boulevard, is the memorial tomb of Alexander I of Battenberg, the final resting place of the first monarch of the Third Bulgarian State since 1898. Commissioned to Swiss architect, Heinrich Mayer in 1897, its interior was painted by Haralampi Tachev. Alexander I Battenberg Tomb is a branch of Regional history museum – Sofia.
