Sofia Arsenal – Museum of Contemporary Art is located in a reconstructed building, part of Sofia Arsenal historical complex, and presents temporary art exhibitions. Sofia Arsenal – Museum of Contemporary Art is a branch of The National Gallery.
Historical Information
The National Gallery is the biggest art museum in Bulgaria. Its collection has over 42 000 art works from Bulgaria, Europe, Asia, America and Africa. Its branches are: Kvadrat 500 (luxury exposition), Palace Museum, Knyaz Alexander I Square (temporary exhibitions), Museum of Christian Art, in the Crypt of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (thematic expositions), Sofia Arsenal – Museum of Contemporary Art (temporary exhibitions), the House Museums of Nikola Tanev and Vera Nedkova.
