Baroque Arts Festival – 13th Edition

Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski - Ceremonial Hall, Serdica's Largo, National Academy of Music Hall, Bulgaria Hall, 5 Oborishte N5 Hall, Vasilevi Brothers Business Center, Nadezhda MCI
The festival is part of the Cultural Events Calendar of Sofia Municipality. It has established itself as the only festival in Bulgaria about ancient music. It presents the European musical art through historically informed performance and instruments relevant to the era in which the works were created, and thus places Sofia among the hosts of such festivals - Barcelona, London, Berlin, Istanbul, Bucharest and others.

Deutscher Weihnachtsmarkt Sofia 2019

City Garden
9th edition of the German Christmas Bazaar in Sofia.
The stage and the wooden houses located in the City Garden near Alexander of Battenberg Square will delight their visitors with a rich cultural programme – children’s theatre, music performances and meetings with Santa Claus. Delicious culinary surprises will welcome the visitors every day, the aroma of cinnamon will be in the air and everyone will be surrounded by smiles and Christmas mood.

Opening hours of the Book fair: 10/12-14.12 from 10:00 am till 08:00 pm; 15/12 from 10:00 am till 07:00 pm.
On December 10 the biggest Bulgarian Book Fair is to open its doors for 47th time in the National Palace of Culture. It will run till 15 December. Sofia International Book Fair is organized by The Bulgarian Book Association supported by Ministry of culture and Sofia municipality. The Book Fair was brought to life in partnership with: Sofia University, National Palace of Culture, French culture institute. International Organization of La Francophonie, Swiss embassy in Bulgaria.
47th Sofia International Book Fair is part of Calendar of cultural events of Sofia Municipality for 2019.

Sofia International Literary Festival

Sofia International Literary Festival is the biggest and most prestigious event for literature in Bulgaria.
The Forum brings together Bulgarian and international authors and provides an opportunity for meetings between the literatures, languages and cultures of different countries.
Each year, the Festival focuses on literature from a different geographic region or language.
Authors from the Balkans, Scandinavia, the Iberian Peninsula, the Visegrad Four, the German-speaking world are presented.
The focus in 2019 will be on French literature and culture.
Sofia International Literary Festival and the International Book Fair are organized by the Bulgarian Book Association with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria and Sofia Municipality.

Christmas Handmade Dreams

Christmas dreams will come true with the help of the craftsmen of beauty and art on November 23 (Saturday) and December 14 (Saturday), on the eve of the warmest family holiday – Christmas. We will have creative workshops for children and adults, students from the National Academy of Arts will participate and charge you with energy, while experienced masters will show you their best creations. You will be able to join in some of the good causes we will be involved in and ... there will be almost everything you want - at least in regard to the gifts you would like for Christmas!

Farmers’ Markets Oborishte – Autumn Season

This is the last market of the Autumn season, during which we hold 4 farmers’ festivals as part of the Cultural Calendar of the capital.
It is on December 15 (as usual on Sunday), and from 11 am to 6 pm at the beginning of Oborishte Street, behind the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Church.
We will introduce well-known and new manufacturers from all over the country, with the best of their products for the season; there will be art and cosmetics, traditions and crafts, music, and themed workshops for everyone.

The Handmade Fest is a traditional festival, held periodically at the National Palace of Culture.
HANDMADE FEST is the largest exhibition of handmade items. It is held at the initiative of the National Palace of Culture, and is organized by Vanya Shtereva.
