90% of the Public Buses in Sofia are New

The modernization of the public transport in Sofia in the last few years has noticeable results – at this point 90% of the buses are new and of the highest environmental standard- EURO 6. Thus, the emissions from the public transport in the Bulgarian capital are now 2.5 times lower than before. The first 20 zero-emission electric buses have been running around the capital for some time now and 15 more are soon expected to be delivered. 22 new natural gas buses will operate on bus lines № 604, 113, 75 and 384. By the end of June, 60 new articulated gas buses will be travelling in Sofia. Along with the renewed public transport, Sofia will also be able to present one of the three "Stops for Stories" in Bulgaria. An art project will be conducted at one of the bus stops in the capital – a 250-word story on “Travelling Again” will be “published” there.
