On June 8, 2019, the Bells Monument in Sofia, created because of the organization of the Banner of Peace Assembly in Bulgaria, celebrated its 40th anniversary. An interesting complex of 107 bells, the latest of which was a present from Pope Francis during his visit to Bulgaria and Sofia at the beginning of May, awaits you only a kilometer away from Business Park metro station. In 2002, another bell – a gift from Pope John Paul II, decorated the monument. By 1990, there had been 4 assemblies and 5 meetings of children from all over the world. Most of the bells were placed by the children's delegations that participated in the assemblies. Among the bells you will find one from FC Basel, while the oldest of them is from the XI century. Placed more than 30 years ago - in 1981, the Bulgarian bell weighs 1,300 kg to celebrate the 1300th anniversary of the founding of the Bulgarian state.
