The Mayor of Sofia Municipality Yordanka Fandakova, the Chief Architect of Sofia Zdravko Zdravkov, the President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation Lyubomir Ganev and the Vice President of the Volleyball Federation Petar Kanev attended the opening of the new sports hall - Levski Sofia, of Volleyball Club Levski in the foothills of Vitosha Mountain. The hall was built entirely with private funds and with the support of the municipality.
The newest and most modern sports facility in Bulgaria is designed and implemented in order to host high level sports events while also being functional and available for various other sports activities. Its construction began at the beginning of 2018, and the operating permit was issued on December 11, 2020.
The hall has a maximum capacity of 1724 seats – including retractable grandstands. The fixed seats are 888. All CEV (Confédération Européenne de Volleyball) requirements for playing Champions League games without the last four are met.
The total area of all courts is 1821.11 square meters with a height of a little over 12 meters. The facility offers three full-size courts, which are suitable for both volleyball and basketball practices and games. The three courts will be rented to third parties mainly after 6 pm on weekdays, as well as on weekends.
The complex has a parking lot for visitors, a reception and a cafe, 4 locker rooms, a conference room, offices and rooms for coaches as well as a doctor's office. The hall can host various events due to its very good infrastructure and logistics.
