The late antique mausoleum is located at 112-118 Dimitar Hadzhikotsev Street, near Yuzhen Park. Based on the discovered objects and various archeological studies, archaeologists suggest that the so-called mausoleum on the Lozen hill is located within the borders of a suburban mansion of a high-ranking resident of Serdica.

Work on this project is expected to be completed by the end of the summer. Conservation and restoration work on the archeological remains of the mausoleum and on the sarcophagi are to be carried out. There will be a designated place where visitors will be able to learn more about the history of the place. Alleys with lighting, places for recreation and a children's playground are to be constructed, and new landscaping in the surrounding area will be provided.

The most valuable object found during the research is a cage cup - vas diatretum, from the second half of the IV century. It is luxurious, made of two layers of glass with openwork mesh decoration and figural frieze in cobalt blue color. There is a scene depicted and in the center is the god Dionysus. The vase will be exhibited in Sofia History Museum.

More than 160 coins, a gold belt tip, a bracelet, a comb and other items related to the life of the noble Serdica family have been discovered.

A similar but smaller mausoleum was also discovered in the Italian city of Ravenna. The focus of Sofia's ancient site is the uncovered building, which is one of the largest of its kind.
