The third edition of Rivers of the city Festival expects 30,000 visitors

The third Rivers of the city Festival will take place in the bed of the Vladaiska River next to the Lion Bridge. Traditionally, many free events, a quality music program, an art bazaar, installations, a modern circus and a summer cinema are expected. On social networks, a record over 28,000 people are expressing their desire to attend, and more are expected on the spot, according to the organizers from the Collective Foundation, who have prepared with numerous attractions along the banks of the Vladaiska River, as well as at the level of the Lion Bridge Square.

This year, the Rivers of the city festival takes place under the sign of two international awards. The Rivers of the city initiative became the only finalist from Bulgaria in the European Commission's New European Bauhaus design awards. Rivers of the city also won the European Cultural Heritage Award / Europa Nostra Awards - the most prestigious award in Europe in this field. The opening of the festival will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 2. The event will continue until September 4. The Rivers of the city 2022 festival was realized with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and with the support of the Sofia Municipality - Calendar of Cultural Events.

Before the official opening of the festival, a forum will be held with the various institutions that are responsible for Perlovska and Vladaiska Rivers — representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Water, Sofia Municipality, Sofiyska Voda and others. Solutions to improve the condition of the rivers and especially their cleanliness will be discussed, as well as next steps that the institutions will take.
