The Mineral Bath in Bankya opens its doors for visitors from Friday

The Mineral Bath in Bankya will open its doors and welcome its first visitors on Friday, September 30 of this year, announced the SOS press center. The Mineral Bath is open every day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. For the next 3 years the Mineral Bath in Bankya will be run and managed by the municipal company Sofia Properties.

Tomorrow, September 29, 2022, will be the official opening of the Mineral Bath in Bankya and an Open Day will be held. Citizens can walk and take a tour in the renovated, but preserved its authentic appearance. The starting times are 11 a.m., 2 РМ and 5 p.m.

The opening at 10 a.m. will be attended by the mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, the chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council, Georgi Georgiev, and the mayor of Bankya, Rangel Markov. The restored Mineral Bath in Bankya has a relaxation area, thermal areas, a children's pool with mineral water, but the original wood carvings of the cabins, the entrance hall with the balconies have been preserved and, most importantly, the shells, emblem of the Bath, on the facade of the building have been restored.

The Bath in Bankya is also known as the Royal Mineral Bath, created during the time of King Ferdinand. It was designed by the Munich architect Prof. Hocheder, a leading specialist in the creation of similar buildings throughout Europe. Prof. Hocheder completed the project in 1906 and on May 24, 1911, the bath was officially opened.
