A total of six cities have reached the finals of the 2022 EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK competitions and the accompanying MOBILITYACTION competition. These are the Portuguese city of Braga, Sofia and the Croatian Zagreb for EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK, as well as Rome, Katowice (Poland) and Braine-L'Alleud (Belgium) for MOBILITYACTION. The EU-backed EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK initiative provides an opportunity for cities, large and small, to try out different ways of innovative mobility planning, promote the use of new infrastructure and raise awareness of sustainable transport in their communities. The accompanying event MOBILITYACTION provides an opportunity for a wide range of organizations to share their best practices and solutions for mobility management.
3,000 cities from 51 countries have participated in EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK in 2022. The campaign is organized and financed by the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport in the EC. The three best performing cities so far are Braga (Portugal), Sofia and Zagreb (Croatia).
EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK and MOBILITYACTION 2022 star cities will be announced on March 23 at a special ceremony in Ghent, Belgium.
