Words, Images, Places - 140 years since the proclamation of Sofia as Capital of Bulgaria

The exposition includes works presenting the city from the end of the 19th century to present day. In addition to the paintings, there will also be postcards, photos and texts where you can read the impressions of Bulgarian and foreign travelers, diplomats and intellectuals regarding the changes and development of the city over the years - architectural, social, political events and people's participation in them.

Baroque Arts Festival – 13th Edition

The festival is part of the Cultural Events Calendar of Sofia Municipality. It has established itself as the only festival in Bulgaria about ancient music. It presents the European musical art through historically informed performance and instruments relevant to the era in which the works were created, and thus places Sofia among the hosts of such festivals - Barcelona, London, Berlin, Istanbul, Bucharest and others.

At its 9th edition, Piano Extravaganza Festival will present eight piano recitals, one chamber music concerts, one jazz concert, one music evening and “Open doors day” for adults and children. The extraordinary artists and the variety of the repertoire of the 12 events will satisfy even the most sophisticated connoisseurs.
The event has become a music festival with a distinct theme, which makes it unique in its character and program content.
The program of the event includes, along with the well-known masterpieces of classical music, works of similarly high quality, but rarely performed or by authors left undeservedly in the shadow of the most brilliant composers.

European Theater Night

Theatres in Sofia
European Theater Night invites all theater fans to become part of a large-scale forum with captivating art events in an unusual and personal way. The project was launched in 2008 in Croatia. The night encompasses and shows quality theater art with no borders, without any language, religious or ethnic barriers. For 6 years in Bulgaria, the initiative has won the hearts of people, media, actors and directors, as well as has attracted the attention of new audiences. The scope and content of the program are constantly expanding, and the event is highly rated.

“The Manifesting ideology 1944-1989”

Regional History Museum – Sofia presents “The Manifesting ideology 1944-1989”. The exhibition is to open its doors on November 7, 2019 and will run until March 31, 2020. It focuses on the years between 1944 – 1989 in Bulgaria. While using historical objects and artifacts the historical review analyzes the above mentioned time period.
Regional History Museum – Sofia brought the exhibition to life in partnership with: Bulgarian National History Museum, Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum at Bulgarian Academy of Science, Museum of Socialist Art and Bulgarian National Film Archive.

Lika Yanko is best known as a painter who went beyond the conventional concepts of expressive means through collaging various ‘accidentally’ found materials, through interweaving the abstract and figurative, through constructing forms of almost only one colour—white.

Baroque Arts Festival – The sound, in scattered rhymes

The duo Dancheva-Pasotti will perform arias and lamentos by the contemporary of Monteverdi – Sigismondo d'India. He became acquainted with all the main vocal styles of his time and employed in his works the most effective compositional techniques .

Last year, the virtuoso pianist Peter Bens gave an emotional concert in Bulgaria Hall. This year he will meet again with his Bulgarian fans - this time at two events.
The first of them - on November 13, is part of the program of the New Year's Music Festival of the National Palace of Culture and is organized by Loud Concerts.
