Words, Images, Places - 140 years since the proclamation of Sofia as Capital of Bulgaria
The exposition includes works presenting the city from the end of the 19th century to present day. In addition to the paintings, there will also be postcards, photos and texts where you can read the impressions of Bulgarian and foreign travelers, diplomats and intellectuals regarding the changes and development of the city over the years - architectural, social, political events and people's participation in them.

Baroque Arts Festival – 13th Edition

The festival is part of the Cultural Events Calendar of Sofia Municipality. It has established itself as the only festival in Bulgaria about ancient music. It presents the European musical art through historically informed performance and instruments relevant to the era in which the works were created, and thus places Sofia among the hosts of such festivals - Barcelona, London, Berlin, Istanbul, Bucharest and others.

Capital of Sport at Days of Challenge

For the fifth consecutive year Sofia - European Capital of Sport is co-organizer of the traditional and popular Days of Challenge - the annual festival for outdoor sports, tourism, ecology and active lifestyles. Sofia 2018 takes part with a special video presentation of its activities and priorities which will be a report on what it has done for the past 5 years.

“The Manifesting ideology 1944-1989”
Regional History Museum – Sofia presents “The Manifesting ideology 1944-1989”. The exhibition is to open its doors on November 7, 2019 and will run until January 31, 2020. It focuses on the years between 1944 – 1989 in Bulgaria. While using historical objects and artifacts the historical review analyzes the above mentioned time period.
Regional History Museum – Sofia brought the exhibition to life in partnership with: Bulgarian National History Museum, Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum at Bulgarian Academy of Science, Museum of Socialist Art and Bulgarian National Film Archive.

“The Scars of War: The Lost Architectural Heritage of Sofia”
From November 14, 2019, this is date of the first massive bombing of Sofia during World War II back in 1943, to April 17, 2020, the date of the last one in 1944, at The National History Museum the immersive space “The Scars of War: The Lost Architectural Heritage of Sofia” will be opened for visitors.
“The Scars of War: The Lost Architectural Heritage of Sofia” was brought to life in partnership with the Bulgarian National Film Archives, and funded by the “Culture” programme of Sofia Municipality.

Sofia Arsenal – Museum of Contemporary Art, 2 Cherni Vrah Blvd.
The exhibition includes works by artists of Bulgarian origin who create in the Nordic countries and are influenced in one way or another by the culture of that region. The purpose is not to show a comprehensive list of artists living there, but rather to present a constellation of different concepts, themes, media and approaches that excite the Bulgarian artists, touched by the magic of the North.
The project is organized by the ‘So Close, So Far’ Non-profit Organization, in partnership with Sofia Arsenal – Museum of Contemporary Art, State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, and with the financial support of the Culture Programme of Sofia Municipality.
