The festival is part of the Cultural Events Calendar of Sofia Municipality. It has established itself as the only festival in Bulgaria about ancient music. It presents the European musical art through historically informed performance and instruments relevant to the era in which the works were created, and thus places Sofia among the hosts of such festivals - Barcelona, London, Berlin, Istanbul, Bucharest and others.
For the fifth consecutive year Sofia - European Capital of Sport is co-organizer of the traditional and popular Days of Challenge - the annual festival for outdoor sports, tourism, ecology and active lifestyles. Sofia 2018 takes part with a special video presentation of its activities and priorities which will be a report on what it has done for the past 5 years.
Regional History Museum – Sofia brought the exhibition to life in partnership with: Bulgarian National History Museum, Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum at Bulgarian Academy of Science, Museum of Socialist Art and Bulgarian National Film Archive.

The exhibition includes works by artists of Bulgarian origin who create in the Nordic countries and are influenced in one way or another by the culture of that region. The purpose is not to show a comprehensive list of artists living there, but rather to present a constellation of different concepts, themes, media and approaches that excite the Bulgarian artists, touched by the magic of the North.
The project is organized by the ‘So Close, So Far’ Non-profit Organization, in partnership with Sofia Arsenal – Museum of Contemporary Art, State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, and with the financial support of the Culture Programme of Sofia Municipality.
