THE 28th EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL SURVA 2019

If you want to experience the feeling and magic of the Kukeri’s games, feel and see the masks of the participants, immerse yourself in the festive procession along with over 6000 Kukeri and Survakari and send a wish for health and luck come to the International Festival of the Masquerade Games in the town of Pernik. Here you will see the preserved masquerade traditions of the region. More than 100 masquerade groups from all ethnographic regions of Bulgaria as well as international guests from Europe, Africa and Asia will take part in the festival. In 2019 in Pernik will be held the 28th edition of the festival with more than 50 years of history. During Surva 2019 people will have the opportunity to see some very interesting works of art in the exhibition halls of the town. You will be able to buy original souvenirs at bazars especially constructed for the event in the center of the town.

Pernik is a member of the Federation of European Carnival Cities and is situated 42.6 km from Sofia and every hour there are buses and trains that you can catch from the Central Railway and Bus Stations.
