Historical Information
On the west coast of the lake are located the Pancharevo resort, the Pancharevo mineral springs and the Sredets National Rowing Base, which specializes in training and water sports competitions. The eastern shore of the lake is occupied by oak and pine forests, and the slopes descend steeply to the water, somewhere ending with screes. In the area of Pancharevo Lake there are several parks, sports facilities, holiday homes and many cozy restaurants. The beautiful nature and its proximity to the capital make it a favorite place for relax of Sofia’s tourists and citizens.
Vitosha mountain, parks and gardens

Pancharevo Lake is an artificial lake in western Bulgaria, at the end of the Pancharevo Gorge of the Iskar River, located at 600 m above sea level between the Vitosha and Lozenska mountains. It is 3 km long and up to 700 m wide, reaching a depth of 30 m, and is situated 12 km southeast of the capital city of Sofia, where the Vitoshka Bistritsa flows into the Iskar.
