Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU

The motto of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2018 is going to be United We Stand Strong. Minister Pavlova explained that the events that will take place are divided in 4 categories. Category A includes meetings of state leaders while category B – of director generals and heads of departments. There will be 6 parliamentary events that fall under category C, while category D includes meetings of working groups. 37 ministries and departments have proposed over 200 events that will be conducted during the Bulgarian presidency. Most of the events are planned to take place in Sofia but Varna, Burgas, Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo will also host some of them. Sofia will host 12 informal meetings of the Council, as well as 11 high-level meetings including the meeting of heads of state and government. Varna will host the meeting of ministers of tourism from the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.
