Sofia named a street after Astana – the capital of Kazakhstan

As of today, there is a street called Astana behind Hilton Hotel in Sofia near Earth and Man National Museum. On March 14, Sofia Municipal Council decided to name one of the capital’s central streets after the capital of Kazakhstan Asana. The decision was made on the eve of the Nauryz spring festival which lasts from March 21 to March 23 and is celebrated by many Eastern nations. Nauryz marks the coming of spring and the beginning of the New Year, and is the oldest and most important festival in the East. Sofia made this decision to honor the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Kazakhstan.
