Sofia Hosts the First Infotur within the official programme of CONVENTA 2025

Sofia, Bulgaria - From February 16 to 18, 2025, Sofia became a center for international tourism by hosting the first Infotour (Pre-FAM Trip), organised by VisitSofia (Sofia Tourism Administration) and the Bulgarian Convention Bureau. The event, which is part of the official program of CONVENTA 2025 conference & exhibition, attracted 9 representatives from 8 different countries who had the unique opportunity to explore and experience Sofia as a destination for hosting international events.

Sofia is a strategic hub that combines Eastern and Western cultures, making it an ideal meeting point for global business. The focus on MICE tourism, in addition to targeting economic benefits from attracting international events to the capital, will also help create exceptional advantages and opportunities for high-level international cooperation between businesses and institutions.

Program Highlights: 

Day 1 (16.02.25): Participants arrived and checked into hotels, followed by a tour of Sofia’s cultural landmarks and networking dinner.

Day 2 (17.02.25): The day began with a visit to the National Palace of Culture, followed by tours of Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia and Toplocentrala venue. Afterwards, the group visited Hotel Hilton Sofia, and the afternoon was dedicated to tours and meetings with hotels and cultural institutions in downtown Sofia, including Hyatt Regency Sofia, InterContinental Sofia, Sense Hotel, the Central Military Club, Ivan Vazov National Theatre, Grand Hotel Sofia, and Sofia Hotel Balkan. The day ended with a traditional dinner and presentation of Bulgarian wines.

Day 3 (18.02.25): The program continued with visits to Sofia Event Center, Metropolitan Hotel Sofia, Inter Expo Center, and Sofia Tech Park. The tour concluded with a visit and lunch at Crowne Plaza Hotel, followed by a transfer to Niš and departure to Ljubljana for the upcoming CONVENTA 2025.

Upcoming Participation in CONVENTA 2025

Following the successful conduct of the CONVENTA Pre-FAM Trip, Visit Sofia and the Bulgarian Convention Bureau are eagerly looking forward to their participation in the international exhibition CONVENTA 2025 in Ljubljana, where they will continue to present Sofia and Bulgaria as attractive destinations for international events.
