The Dawn of European Civilization: Slatina - Sofia 8 Thousand Years Old /Exhibition/

The exhibition is organized on the occasion of 33 years since the beginning of the excavations of the Early Neolithic Settlement Slatina – Sofia which were renewed in 2013 with the financial support of the Culture Program of Sofia Municipality.

It can be visited till September 3, 2018 at Sofia History Museum. The exhibition tells us about the lifestyle of the residents of one of the earliest Neolithic settlements in Europe which dates back from the end of the 7th to the first half of the 6th millennium BC. It presents finds from over 10 prehistoric houses that were found and explored by a team led by Prof. Nikolov. Among the displayed exhibits are ceramic vessels (including white-painted ceramics), cult tables, loom weights, fragments of anthropomorphic vessels, anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figurines, bone tools and amulets, objects made of horn, stone tools, axes, etc.
