The Bulgarian Tourist Union awarded Sofia – European Capital of Sport Foundation

In December 2018, Sofia – European Capital of Sport Foundation was awarded with a special prize at the annual award ceremony of the Bulgarian Tourist Union that took place in the hall of the Ritual House at 2 Krakra Street.

BTU was highly praised for its excellent partnership with Sofia2018 as well as Sofia Municipality. One of their successful joint initiatives is the traditional climbing of Cherni Vrah (Black Peak) attended by many tourists, young people, athletes, mountain runners and sports lovers that participate in the activities of Sofia - European Capital of Sport 2018. This is also one of the main objectives of the city - to attract more and more people to sports and active lifestyle. Because of its successes in this direction Sofia is a permanent holder of the title "European Capital of Sport".
