As of June 2019, a New Education Center will be Awaiting You in the Heart of Sofia

Roman crafts and activities were presented at its opening

A new information and education center of Sofia History Museum was opened on June 1, 2019 at the Largo. Its opening was on June 1, but it will officially start working in September. In partnership with Mos Maiorum Ulpiae Serdicae Association for Antique Reconstructions, Roman board games, mosaic making, printing of Roman coins, a demonstration of Roman clothing and armament from early and late antiquity were presented on the opening day. Located in the very heart of this ancient and modern city, between Banya Bashi Mosque and St Nedelya Cathedral, next to Largo tourist information center, the new education and information center will be a place for educational activities for people of all ages. Activities of the summer program "Vacation at the Museum" will be held here as well as seminars, presentations and workshops. After all construction activities are completed, the hall will be opened to regular visitors as a branch of Sofia History Museum in the autumn of 2019. On September 21 and 22, 2019, the first antique festival in the Bulgarian capital - Serdica is my Rome, will be held with the active participation of the information and education center.
