Sofia Hosts the 6th Congress of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism

The sixth annual congress of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism will be held on September 26-27, 2019 in Sofia. The main topic of the forum will be "The successful balneological product - a prerequisite for the development of sustainable health tourism". Interesting presentations will be made at the congress regarding Sofia as a preferred destination for spa and cultural tourism, the positioning of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian medic/SPA and SPA hotels on the German health insurance market, as well as the success story of health tourism in Croatia etc. Sofia's indisputable resources need more opportunities for optimal development so that the capital can offer the most competitive product that the guests of this millennial city expect. In 2019 Sofia Municipality also invested in mineral water through the revival of iconic Mineral Baths, one of which is in Bankya. The restoration of the buildings and of the balneological and SPA activities in the Baths with healing properties in Gorna Banya and Ovcha Kupel are to be executed. Step by step Sofia will successfully restore its former glory from the Roman era as a balneology center.
